THERE'S A PLACE...!
Hi and welcome to the Beatles In Manchester web site.
A place to highlight the effect the city had on the lads from Liverpool.
A long time dream of Mancunian and Beatle fan Paul Wilde.
To herald and celebrate the historical significance.
Listing all concerts, TV and Radio appearances
plus other unique associations with the city.
And documenting the key people instrumental in bringing them to town!
The fact is the area gave The Beatles a number of 'firsts'
which is an untold story until now.
First audition, first radio, first TV, first pro-engagement
under Brian Epstein outside Liverpool!!!!
So it's time we celebrated the fact and Paul aims to
put the record straight with your help!

THE BEATLES CONNECTION...
Paul's music connection to the fab four is that his father
Geoff Wilde played at The Cavern.
As a trumpet player in various jazz bands during the 50's and 60's he
witnessed first hand the transition from jazz to beat scene.
Paul will be devoting a page to his Dad in the very near future.
This to document his memories and experiences of the Cavern Club and the era. The fact he played at The Oasis Club in Manchester along with other local haunts is another reason to get his account of what those days were like.
And to ask how The Beatles were perceived by he and his fellow musicians at odds with the different music styles perhaps? So stay tuned!
Paul is a regular at the annual August bank holiday Beatles convention in Liverpool.
Collating the memorabilia, facts and information contained within these pages.
Interviews and photos from his own collection form
the written content and images on view.
